Born out of the concern for social change in the 1960s, Universidad Popular has been doing popular education in Chicago since the early 1970s and providing academic, job and life skills to low income families in Chicago’s Spanish-speaking community. Currently, UP has sites in Pilsen, Little Village, Chicago Lawn and Logan Square and welcomes people to volunteer their time and expertise toward the development of a better society in which all of us can live.
