The Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC) promotes strong communities, businesses and households to ensure that people who work do not live in poverty. JARC provides quality skills training and support services to help low-income and unemployed workers achieve self sufficiency. JARC also provides economic and workforce development services to businesses to improve their competitiveness.

Adult Learners’ Program (ALPS) gives the gift of reading to neighborhood residents and workers through volunteer one-on-one tutoring. ALPS also offers pre-GED classes, writers’ group with opportunities for publishing, and special subject seminars.

Careers in Metalworking Program (CMP) teaches adults the skills to get entry level jobs with Chicagoland manufacturers in positions that offer good wages, benefits and opportunities for advancement. Services are free and include hands-on machine training, work readiness, classes and job placement. Economic and Human Development (EHD) offers free computer skills and financial literacy classes in English and Spanish to community members and manufacturing workers.
