A Board of Education approved charter high school, Community Youth Development Institute exists to educate youth while creating a safe and caring school environment. CYDI is affiliated with Youth Connection Charter School.
Programs & Services
CYDI is a two-year September through June program providing social and academic skills emphasized through a nontraditional structured learning environment. Students are prepared to be productive members of society while developing skills in reading, mathematics, science, writing, social studies, career exploration and critical thinking. All skills are enhanced by computer instruction. Group and individual counseling is provided by a state certified counselor and special education services for students that have an IEP. CYDI is a closed campus providing a lunch and breakfast program, Driver’s Education referral and prom through the Alternative Schools Network.
Admissions
Students between the ages of 16-21 and have at least 5 high school credits are placed on a waiting list and selected by lottery. A $200 activity fee is due on the first day of enrollment.
